The Highlander Select squads headed on the road this weekend for a tough battle with the Cascade Bruins and the Mount Vernon Bulldogs.
vs. Cascade
The 5th and 7th graders got the Shorecrest Select off to a great start with two wins for the program. Coach Mike McCoy and the 5th graders won their game by 19 points, while the Coach Lawson and the 7th Graders pulled off a nail biting, 3 point victory over a very good 7th Cascade team.
The 6th and 8th Graders finished with two victories as well, with the 8th graders pulling away in the second half for a 18 point victory, while the 6th graders and Coach Magaoay beat a tough 6th Grade Cascade team by 9 points.

at Mount Vernon
After scrambling up north to get to Mount Vernon, the 5th and 7th graders were met with two very tough opponents. The 5th graders fell down by 15 in the first quarter but stormed back to pull within 2 points in the fourth quarter but eventually lost by 6. The 7th graders were met by a strong and fast Mt. Vernon that pulled out the double digit victory. The 6th and 8th graders both enjoyed double digit victories in the final two games of the day.
