Highlander Select Basketball was established in 2002 as a feeder program to build the foundation for Shorecrest High School basketball.

The objective of Highlander Select is to maximize the potential of the younger players in preparation for entry into high school basketball. At each grade level the road to success in achieving our objective is to; teach the fundamental skills needed prior to reaching Shorecrest, learn how to compete against other highly competitive teams and programs, along with building a winning tradition. This is accomplished with the goal of drawing from the students within the Shorecrest school boundaries or who are planning to attend Shorecrest.

Our season begins in mid-October and consists of approximately 25+ games. Our league, the WESCO feeder league, consists of a sixteen game schedule against 15 other WESCO feeder programs and concludes with the league championship playoff in early March. Additionally we play in a couple of preseason tournaments.

The success of the Shorecrest High School basketball program depends on the participation of middle and elementary school basketball players committed to playing in a competitive environment and learning the “Scot’s Way”.

Participation in any select sport is a major commitment. In a skilled sport, such as basketball, it is no different. Making basketball the number one sports activity during the season is essential to ensure your son enjoys and gains as much out of the experience as he can.

We appreciate your interest in Highlander Select Basketball, thank you.

Go Scots!!!
